The Business You MeanT To Build
How To Get Your Business Off The Ground Even If It’s Already Mid-Flight
A structured 6 session course based on the book geared towards busy owners who want to fast track their direction.
Your business isn’t where it is because you avoided the work. Your business got here because you followed the pattern most owners follow. You start something you love, realize you’re now a complete executive team for one business, learn the skills that drive its revenue, and buckle up to take the ride.
With our noses down doing what we know works, it’s difficult to look far enough ahead to see where the growth opportunities are and where we might not be as successful as we think. That’s why I wrote The Business You Meant to Build and created six sessions that work with a busy owner’s schedule, giving them the chance to look at their business in a way they normally don’t get to.
3 Things That Happen When You Build Without A Solid Plan:
- You become the bottleneck: Every operational decision, daily fire, and financial question eventually lands back on your desk.
- Your energy gets fragmented: You spend 80% of your week managing current friction instead of driving high-margin growth.
- Motion replaces progress: You are working harder than ever, but your actual profit, time, and scale aren’t compounding.
The Six Sessions:
This isn’t a deck course. You bring your actual financial figures, operating numbers, and business reality into the room.
All your work is stored on a Google Drive structure private to you, that’s easy to follow so you can work more quickly.
All session photos of work done on the white board are added to your file to expedite the time it takes to complete the work for the next sessin.
Because you have enough on your plate to take care of.

Who’s Running This?
Frank Lockwood
Business Owner, Advisor, & Author of “The Business You Meant to Build“
Frank built and exited his own business (a brewery) through a structured buyout. Today, he co-owns an independent cinema with his wife, so the daily pressure of managing real payroll, tight margins, and operating weeks isn’t theoretical to him.
Alongside his hands-on small business track record, Frank brings over 20 years of corporate strategy and professional advisory execution into every session. He sees the underlying patterns behind operational problems faster than most, cuts through self-deception, and helps owners fix the actual engine driving their company.
His 6-session curriculum is supplemented by his book, The Business You Meant to Build, providing both the structural framework and the practical tools to execute it.
Frequently Asked Questions
can I get started without a workshop?
While the workshops (Free in-person / $47 virtual) offer a low-risk way to experience the framework live, you can schedule a 1-on-1 clarity conversation directly. We’ll review your current business structure and decide whether a workshop, 1-on-1 advisory, or the 6-session program makes the most sense.
What if my business is already profitable?
This program isn’t triage for dying companies. If your business is making money but sucking up 100% of your personal time and capacity, this closes structural gaps so the business can grow without requiring you to do everything yourself.
How flexible is the schedule for the 6-Session Program?
We accommodate busy operating schedules. The program can be delivered bi-weekly, weekly, or in a compressed 2-day sprint depending on if you sign up for group or individual sessions.
How much time does the work between sessions actually take?
Between sessions, plan on 1 to 2 hours of focused application work. You aren’t doing theoretical assignments, you are building your actual dashboards, customer profiles, and 90-day execution plans. This estimate includes the book reading, everything was written with a busy owner in mind.
